Events

LifeSource generally keeps a pretty full schedule on our Outreach and Events calendar.

We have all kinds of things going on, from in-store product sampling to demonstrations and information booths at events organized by the community. Your patronage of LifeSource allows us to offer our Community Room for food, community and wellness events sponsored by other organizations or individuals. A minimal fee or store purchase may be required to help fund the room.

On this page you’ll find a calendar of upcoming events. You can also subscribe to our blog by email or RSS reader and keep up to date that way. We’ll post all our upcoming events to the front page of our website so you can view them in one convenient place!

NW Permaculture Institute – Film and Discussion Series
Jun 15 @ 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm

NW Permaculture Institute is shifting focus in order to make best use of our volunteers, time, and resources.  Moving toward our goal of offering more classes, we are taking some time to restructure and we are reducing the number of film events for our Salem film series.  There will be no film in May, June, or July 2017.  We hope to be announcing a film for August 24th very soon.  “Ancient Futures: Learning from Ladakh,” will be shown at a later date.  Thank you for your patience with the changes, and we look forward to seeing you at future events.
Compost Class
A well made compost is as good as gold when you want your garden to thrive with healthy plants and nutrient rich produce, but compost can easily go wrong with the wrong recipe or the wrong conditions. Permaculture educator, Lichen June, of the NW Permaculture Institute, teaches this fun and fact filled class. Learn about soil structure and function, how plants eat, pH effect on available nutrients, weeds as indicators and paramedics, compost recipe and care, and how to adjust that recipe when things go wrong or when you need to speed up the process. $15 Silverton Food Co-op members, $20 general.
